A while ago I wrote that I would post some of my older poems as well as some of my newer ones so all my readers can compare and (hopefully) give me some insight. Well, I'm going to be posting some right now! These 3 poems are ones that I wrote when I was in high school so they are a couple of years old.
My comments:
(1) A White Rose Stained Red - I wrote this poem as a class assignment in H.S. and it turned out to be one of my favorite poems and it still is.
(2) Banshee - I can't remember what I was thinking about when I wrote this.. it was so long ago. But I do remember loving it to bits.
(3) Shadow Angel - I wrote this after a dream I had.
A White Rose Stained Red
Danielle Myre
A white rose stained red,
Like the million words you said.
All the hurt that made me hide,
The sadness that made me want to cry.
Afraid of never coming back,
With a heart loose and lack.
Everything that will fall away,
With nothing I can say.
My heart is stained by a thorn,
Your heart was never really even born.
Oh how I wish you knew,
Why my blood turned so blue.
Hidden in the sighs,
Just like all the lies,
That you told me you would never say,
Made my life turn gray.
Remembering the day,
When you said you'd never run away,
How I was a fool,
To believe someone like you.
Banshee
Danielle Myre
Safe inside,
This brilliant mind,
That cannot be eyed,
A world twisted and blind.
Pay no heed,
To what you cannot see,
Because you will only bleed,
In the world of the banshee.
A fatal scream,
That bleeds in my eyes,
Is a fall from a dream,
Frozen in thy demise.
Take every one of your fears,
And give them all away,
Let there be no more tears,
That make the sky so gray.
In the end it all failed,
You could never be free.
Now you are railed,
Trapped forever as a banshee.
Shadow Angel
Danielle Myre
You follow afar,
Always watching and waiting,
Keeping an eye on her.
She does not know you are there.
But she knows she is safe,
Never really knowing why.
At times you think she see's you,
At times you think she will find out,
But she doesn't.
She keeps following her path,
Knowing that she will always be safe.
You worry when she cries,
And hold her when she hurts,
You try and make her feel better.
But you know you can't always interfere.
Instead you stay by her side,
Making sure she stays safe.
You wait for the day,
When you can finally reveal yourself to her.
As time passes,
And she grows old,
You stay by her side and wait patiently.
The day comes when she says goodbye to her world.
You are waiting right there for her.
She lifts up and see's you waiting,
Her image of youth returns.
She stares at you with a smile.
As a single tear runs down her face,
You embrace her softly and welcome her home.
All she can manage is one line,
"Thank you my shadow angel."
