My Own

A word that mimics my own,
And a world turned inside out.
Into an unknown zone,
All you can do is shout.
But forget your voice,
It won't reach.
This world lacks choice,
And no speech.
I once thought it was cool,
But I realized the cost.
You can say I was a fool,
Because my life turned to frost.
But here I am now,
My voice is my own,
I won't ask how,
Because I've grown.
